1. Are your wheels constructed of steel or forged aluminum?

Wheels for single rear wheel (SRW) trucks are available in either powder-coated steel, chrome-plated steel, Alumicoat (a polished ceramic aluminum coating), or polished forged aluminum. Wheels for dual rear wheel (DRW) trucks are available in either powder coated steel, Alumicoat or polished forged aluminum. Powder coating is a durable baked on finish and is available in a variety of colors (black is most popular). The SRW or DRW powder coated steel wheels can be used with your factory center cap and our 1-1/2" wide polished stainless steel trim (beauty) ring that goes around the perimeter of the wheel and also covers up the wheel weights. The steel DRW wheels can also be equipped with the optional full wheel covers, or simulators (named as such because they simulate the look of a polished aluminum wheel). They are mirror-polished, 304 stainless steel and are the only aftermarket covers Made in America. They give the look of aluminum wheels and are easier to maintain than aluminum while still allowing for a full rotation.

2. Do your wheels use adapters & are there any modifications necessary?

No. Our wheels are direct replacements, designed and manufactured with the same offset, bolt pattern and hub bore (hub centric wheels) as your specific truck. Installation is as simple as changing a spare tire. In most cases, the factory center caps, lug nuts, and torque specifications are used. There are NO modifications necessary to the truck with two possible exceptions: you may need to correct the speedometer if the tires selected are a larger diameter than stock. Also, some of the larger 19.5" heavy duty tires will not comfortably work in the wheel well of certain trucks. You will either need to select a different tire size, or put in a lift. In most cases it is not an issue, however, our technicians can advise you best, based upon the specifics of your truck.

3. Why a 19.5" wheel and not an 18", 19", or 20"?

Half-size wheels (17.5", 19.5", 22.5" & 24.5") and tires are designed for heavy-duty commercial use (e.g. most tractor trailers run 22.5" wheels and tires). "Whole-sizes" are for passenger & light truck applications and although the 18", 19" & 20" tires have excellent handling characteristics, they have almost NO load carrying capacity.

4. Are your wheels D.O.T. tested and approved?

Yes, our wheels are fully tested and stamped with a D.O.T. (Department of Transportation) approval and certified weight rating.

5. Why can't I install six (6) aluminum wheels on my dually?

(1) The wheels are centered on a machined surface on the rear end. With the extra thickness of the aluminum wheel on the inside rear, there isn't enough machined surface to center the outside rear wheel. (2) The studs aren't long enough for 2 aluminum wheels.

6. Will my dual rear wheels have the proper spacing?

Absolutely. We build our wheels with the correct offset so that the minimum dual spacing (MDS = 2 X Offset) will be maintained.
